AWS (American Welding Society) classification numbers are indicated on each package (see below). E-6011: Premium mild steel electrode, fast freeze, deep penetrating for general-purpose uses. Welding through medium amounts of paint, rust, and dirt. E-6013: A low penetrating electrode; all position low amps. Sheet metal-general all-purpose. E-7014:Light to medium penetration. Smooth, fine-rippled bead appearance. All-purpose electrode. Heavy sheet metal. E-7018: Premium low-hydrogen electrode with x-ray quality, dense deposits. Low splatter and amps, flat bead.
